Two hot news items have just come in! It looks like UDE has announced a couple of surprise products for the holiday season.

The first product is the Elemental Hero Collection. This will be a two-box item, with a Collection #1 and a Collection #2.

Each Collection box will come with four Elemental Hero cards with Secret Rare foil tech, four booster packs, and a Fusion Guide poster showing all the possible Fusion combos between the Elemental Hero monsters. For fans of Elemental Heroes, this sounds like a great way to add some new foil cards to your deck. Depending on which Heroes were printed as Secret Rares, it will be possible to have an all-foil Elemental Hero deck soon.

Sources say that the Elemental Hero Collections should be out within a week or two (seen in Sunday's Target book in the Sunday newspaper adds!).

The second item is Ultimate Edition 2. You might remember Ultimate Edition 1, which came out around this time last year and included two packs of Dark Revelation 2 plus the long-awaited Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon card. UDE has announced that Ultimate Edition 2 will contain the equally long-awaited Dragon Master Knight! This Level 12 Fusion of Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon and Black Luster Soldier has 5000 ATK and DEF, plus 500 more for every Dragon on your side of the field.

The Dragon Master Knight was originally created by Yugi and Kaiba to battle against the Five-Headed Dragon (recently released in the Dinosaurs Rage Special Set). So it looks like UDE gave us a twofer by having Dragon Master Knight follow hot on the heels of Five-Headed Dragon. Yugi and Kaiba used this monster again in Season 4 while battling Dartz, although the monster name was changed on the anime to Master of Dragon Soldier. But it looks like UDE decided to stick with the original name from Season 1.

Details on the contents of the Ultimate Dueling Guide included in this product are still mysterious, although insider sources have hinted that it will include a history of the game feature tracing the story of the Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG since the Yugi/Kaiba starter decks back in 2002.

This is NOT a rumor, this actually happened yesterday!!! The new ban list, due to go into effect September 1st instead of October 1st, was posted on http://www.upperdeckentertainment.com/yugioh/en/forbidden.aspx for about 6 hours, then was removed. I was able to print it before they removed it. Here's what the original changes were to be:

Forbidden Cards: NEW! Chaos Sorcerer, Snatch Steal, Thousand-Eyes Restrict, Tsukuyomi

Limited to 1: NEW! Future Fusion, Gravity Bind, Magician of Faith, Nobleman of Crossout, Ring of Destruction, Spirit Reaper, Ultimate Offering

Semi-Limited: NEW! Exiled Force, Giant Trunade, Reckless Greed, Wall of Revealing Light. NEW! The following cards are no longer limited: Drop Off, Emergency Provisions, Lightening Vortex, Reflect Bounder

Why was the list removed? They may have forgotten some cards or wanted to prevent more one-turn-kill options, such as limiting Cyber Stein to 1 or banning it completely.

I got my renewal form in the mail from Shonen Jump and so I went online and I figure I might was well renew it online and get the Naruto freebie collector's guide even though I don't particularlly Care for Naruto. Anyway I went to click on the renew button and instead of it saying that free Collector's Guide it said get 3 free Yu-gi-oh Cards when you re-subscribe or start a new subscription. The 3 cards are Unity, Yu-Jo Friendship, and Judement of the Pharaoh cards. I thought Yu-Jo Friendship card was going to be available in the ani-manga book Yu-Gi-Oh!: Duelist Vol. 16 and The Judegment of the Pharaoh Card was only going to be in in the Ani-Manga book Yu-Gi-Oh!: Millennium World Vol. 4. Also I am not complaining I am quite happy because I really don't have a bookstore or any store near me that sells any of those books besides the local grocery store that sells Shonen Jump which the September issue with Unity will be on sale along with those Ani-manga books August 1st. I was just looking on the online site www.amazon.com and It has for Pre-sale Yu-gi-oh 2: Movie - Capsule Monsters which I am going to guess is Part 2 conclusion to the a few weeks ago release called Yu-gi-oh Capsule Monsters Part 1 The Movie. Also I noticed that they have for pre-sale a what looks to be the first Volume of Yu-gi-oh GX on DVD. Judging by the suggested retail price that amazon lists I am going to safely say that is a DVD with a compilation of Episodes rather than a BOX SET SEASON 1. Both Yu-gi-oh DVDS that i Mentioned above have a release date of September 12th, 2006. So perhaps that's when Yu-gi-oh Dawn of the Duel will be released as a Box set As i reported I saw a preview for it on the Yu-gi-oh Capsule Monsters Part 1. Also I noticed on www.gamestop.com that they have a New Yu-gi-oh GBA game available that will be released on August 1st, 2006. It is called Yu-gi-oh GX Ultimate Pack. I sent an e-mail yesterday about a second airing of "Johnny Test" replacing the 11:30 AM Yu-Gi-Oh! on Kids' WB!, turns out it's permanent according to TV.Yahoo.com, if you click "WB" on the chart, go to the Saturday and click "Johnny Test" and look toward the bottom it still has it on both airings for the 22nd. Therefore, Yu-Gi-Oh! will only be airing at 8:00 AM on Saturdays on Kids' WB!, but it will continue to air new episodes, the final arc being called "Dawn of the Duel".

However, if you click "Yu-Gi-Oh!" on the listings chart, it will show the first two episodes of this arc to be called "Tomb of the Nameless Pharoah" and "Spiritual Awakening".

On October 15, 2005, Kids' WB! will premiere the final Yu-Gi-Oh! journey, "Yu-Gi-Oh!: Dawn of the Duel" (known in Japan as "Pharaoh's memories") as revealed at http://kidswb.warnerbros.com/web/stuff/stuff_display.jsp?id=YUG, and the first ep will be called "Tomb of the Nameless Pharoah" as revealed by http://tv.tribune.com/whatson/kids/0,1181,wbdc-18,00.html, but according to that and http://kidswb.warnerbros.com/web/stuff/stuff_display.jsp?id=JOT, it will only air at 8:00 AM, due to a second airing of "Johnny Test" taking the former slot of the 11:30 AM airing. We don't know if this is permanent or not. However, looking back, moving the show from its 11:00 AM timeslot it's been at since like February 2002 may have been a very rash move on Kids' WB!'s side since the 11:30 AM slot has been known to be the "death-slot" for Kids' WB! shows since for the past three or four years, the show there has almost always been the next to be replaced. Examples include the third and fourth seasons of X-Men: Evolution, the first season of Mucha Lucha, the second season of Cubix, and the cancellation of shows like "Phantom Investigators" and "Da Boom Crew". The only big survivors of that slot are the fourth season of "Static Shock", which got pulled back to 8:30 AM in about four weeks, and the second season of "Mucha Lucha", which disappeared for about a month, then came back at 8:30 AM where it had a slot ever since before it ended. YGO has been at 11:30 AM before, when it first aired, but however, it appears to be going through the same decline "Jackie Chan Adventures" did during its final season. It was one of Kids' WB!'s best shows being in a fixed slot for nearly the entire run of the show, but they moved it to an earlier time and it experienced a decline during its final season. Yu-Gi-Oh! appears to be going through the same thing, with only one airing left, in a bad slot for waking up to watch. Let's hope this doesn't decline as well.

The new Ban List has finally arrived, and people are preparing for it best they can as October 1st draws closer. Black Luster Soldier, after almost a year and a half of domination, has finally been banned. Some of the cards on the Ban List come as a complete shock, but others, as somewhat obvious. Heres a look at the newest Ban List, to take effect October 1st here in America and September 1st in Japan:

September/October 1st Ban List 2005-2006:
Yata-Garasu
Witch of the Black Forest
Black Luster Soldier Envoy of the Beginning
Chaos Emperor Dragon Envoy of the End
Fiber Jar
Makyura the Destructor
Magical Scientist
Sinister Serpent
Raigeki
Harpies Feather Duster
Monster Reborn
Butterfly Dagger Elma
Mirage of Nightmare
The Forceful Sentry
Change of Heart
Painful Choice
Graceful Charity
Delinquent Duo
Imperial Order
Mirror Force
Ring of Destruction
Sixth Sense

Dont worry about Sixth Sense, obviously, as it is broken, is not out in English, and probably never will be. Notice, however, that the list is getting longer and longer. They are finally taking the steps needed to allow more balance. By balance, I mean that there will be less swing cards. The field wont change as drastically in as sporadic a manner. The sad part, however, is that these cards would all be thrown into your standard deck, minus a card or two like Butterfly Dagger and Makyura.

As of June 6, Yu-Gi-Oh! stopped airing on the Kids' WB! weekday
lineup, it has been replaced with a two-week event of "The Batman".
However, after that, it will still not return due to this lineup
starting June 20:

3:00 - Pokmon
3:30 - Jackie Chan Adventures
4:00 - Xiaolin Showdown
4:30 - Xiaolin Showdown

And beginning June 18, its double airing on Saturdays will be removed
to move new episodes of "MegaMan: NT Warrior: Axess" into its
timeslot. However, in fall, this is all gonna change.

Saturdays:

8:00 - Yu-Gi-Oh!
8:30 - Coconut Fred's Fruit Salad Island
9:00 - Loonatics
9:30 - Xiaolin Showdown
10:00 - Pokmon
10:30 - Johnny Test
11:00 - Yu-Gi-Oh!
11:30 - The Batman

and the new weekday lineup:

3:00 - Pokmon
3:30 - Xiaolin Showdown
4:00 - Yu-Gi-Oh!
4:30 - The Batman

However, by January 2006, Kids' WB! will be rid of the weekday lineup
due to local affiliates complaining about it taking up space. As a
result, Kids' WB! will extend their Saturday schedule by one hour,
making it last from 7-12.

Back on November 18, 2004, Pojo.com posted a news report "...Well, the boys at UDE told me [Pojo.com] that when the TCG comes out, you will get an exclusive YuGiOh TCG reward if you teach your sisters how to play Winx Club. Not sure about the details behind this promotion, but we'll post them as we get them." I contacted Pojo.com to get a follow-up on the article, since the Winx Club game is out now. After some email traffic, it turns out that UpperDeck Entertainment (UDE) dropped the idea. I think the Winx Club TCG will do fine on its own.

New Yu-Gi-Oh! Series Set for Fall
4Kids' Earnings Slip 10%
May 11, 2005

4Kids Entertainment reported a 10% decline in net revenues for the first quarter of 2005 when compared with Q1 of 2004. The drop stems from a decline in licensing revenues from Yu-Gi-Oh!, which earns the bulk of the company's licensing fees as well as a decline in advertising revenue for the 4Kids TV block, which runs on the Fox network on Saturday mornings. 4Kids' Chairman and CEO Al Kahn told investors in a conference call that the company has plans to reverse the downward trends in both licensing and advertising revenues. He announced that a new Yu-Gi-OH! series, Yu-Gi-Oh! GX will hit the airwaves in the fall and that it will come with an expanded licensing program, which includes new CCG releases, videogames and toys from Mattel all of which should start to have an impact late in the year.

Set in the future, Yu-Gi-Oh! GX takes place in an academy, where the young hero sharpens his duelist skills. The new Yu-Gi-Oh! GX series will run daily on both the Cartoon Network's Miguzi block (where it will be one of the few anime series) and the Kids WB starting in September. A fifth season of the regular Yu-Gi-Oh! series will get its American debut on the Kids WB in the fall.

The next Cyber-Stein SJC-EN001 has been put on ebay, won from the Florida Shonen Jump Championship Tournament. If the last one sold for $25,000, how come no one used the Buy It Now option for $7,000 on this one? U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents confiscated the largest cache of counterfeit Yu-Gi-Oh! cards ever recovered in North America. The raid, which was executed in the Los Angeles area late last week, took place after a vendor in downtown Los Angeles offered to sell an ICE undercover agent 250 cartons of the counterfeit cards for more than $36,000. So far no arrests have been made in the case, but the investigation is continuing. The initial lead in the probe came from investigators working for Yu-Gi-Oh!'s North American trademark holder, Upper Deck. ICE officials believe that the counterfeit cards were manufactured in China, and Upper Deck officials thought that the cards seized last week would be worth several million dollars at retail if they were genuine.

There have been reports that the money from fake Yu-Gi-Oh card sales fund TERRORISTS!

DO NOT BUY FAKE YUGIOH CARDS EVER!

Reporter: JESSE S
Date: 02/12/2005

I highly recommend getting BECKETT YUGIOH COLLECTOR magazine. It has the best info on the fake cards and photo's I have seen. You can pick it up anywhere. The fake cards don't just set with the god cards any more. I have received fake cards from the set of LON, and found out that other sets are now popping up. Watch what you buy from e-bay.

On the Fake God Card, the color is more washed out then the real cards. The Real God cards have much more solid colors. The #1 tell-tell sign is the back of the cards. The Real god cards DO NOT have the logo (Konami) on it, like all the real Yu-Gi-Oh cards do. What they do have is a blank back the matches the colors as the card.
Obelisk - Blue Back
Slifer - Red Back
The Winged Dragon of Ra - Yellow Back

#1 - Any card or anyone saying the cards are made in china or are printed in Chinese language are selling fake cards. Real Yu-Gi-Oh cards are printed in the following languages only: English, Spanish, French, French-Canadian, German, Italian, Portuguese, and Japanese.

#2 - The hologram located in the lower right corner will have a Eye of Anubis on it. The foil is sometimes put on wrong, or can be removed with a fingernail

#3 - The cards that Upper Deck use are like a playing card deck. Those making fake cards will have a shiny coating with many layers. This makes the card feel thicker.

#4 - On the back of a real God Card should not have any writing on it of any kind! the color of the "swirl" should also match the color used on the front of the card. So for example, the back of a Winged Dragon of Ra card should be yellow. FAKE CARDS HAVE WRITING ON THE BACK, such as Konami on the top left and on bottom right corner Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME

I have also seen on the back of the card, they are very bright. If you look at any one of the cards you have and compare to any card you think is fake you will be able to tell the difference..

#5 - Spelling is a big indicator - As I have seen on some of the fake cards the spelling in the bottom right corner is always wrong.
Correct - 1996 KAZUKI TAKAHASHI
FAKE - 1996 KAJURI TARAHASEI
If you run into any of these signs. It is a real good indication you have a counterfeit. Don't buy it or return it for full refund.

Responding to widespread discontent among its game and hobby store customers, Upper Deck is changing its shipping policies on the Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG to give game and hobby stores an advantage over its mass merchant and other chain customers. The new policy provides for Upper Deck to begin shipping chain retailers on the street date for the hobby channel, effectively giving the hobby channel a week or more of sales before the chains put new Yu-Gi-Oh! releases on sale.

The winning bid on ebay for a Card of Sanctity EP1-EN000 was $3,450.00!!! Even though there are only 100 in the world, is the card really worth that much? It sucks in any type of deck, and NOT the same as it was in the show or the movie.

Two new structure decks are coming out in Early Feb 2005. One is "Dragon's Roar". The second is "Zombie Madness". Both of these decks are designed for the Advance Format. Both are very playable right out of the box. There are a lot of really good rare cards in these decks. There is one new ultra rare card in each deck. All others are reprints. The boxes will not have YuGiOh anime characters on them for the first time ever. No clear window, but really cool monsters on the cover.

Cyber-Stein is selling on ebay for over $25,000!!!!!!!

"Cyber-Stein," a Yu-Gi-Oh! card first given away at GenCon SoCal a little over a week ago, has been listed on eBay; the most recent bid as of this writing is $25,300. The card is one of only two extant copies of the English version of the card. One was distributed through a charity event at the convention; the other (the one for sale on eBay), was a prize at the Shonen Jump Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG Champion Series event held at the show. The only distribution currently planned for the English-language Cyber-Stein card is through the Shonen Jump events. The next Shonen Jump Yu-Gi-Oh! event is scheduled for February 6th in Las Vegas.

Upper Deck is not slowing the release schedule for its top-selling Yu-Gi- Oh! CCG brand in 2005, totaling eleven SKUs. Upper Deck has now released info on releases through the end of the year, at least in outline.

Master Collection 2 is currently unscheduled, but slotted in first quarter in the Upper Deck release schedule. Each Master Collection #2 will include one pack and one variant card from Pharaonic Guardian, Magician's Force, Dark Crisis, Invasion of Chaos, Ancient Sanctuary, and Exclusive Pack. Master Collection #1 will be released in December.

A yet-to-be-named structure deck product will be released in May.

The Lost Millennium Booster Packs will be released in early June, Dark Beginning 2 is scheduled for August, an as-yet-unnamed booster and tins in September, Dark Revelation 2 in October, and a final booster release in November.

Upper Deck has been giving heavy marketing support to its Yu-Gi-Oh! brand, including 450 gross rating points worth of TV advertising behind Soul of the Duelist in September, and the same volume of advertising behind its Tins this month.

Fans of the original subtitled version will be happy with this past Tuesday's release of Yu-Gi-Oh uncut DVDs. I picked mine up at Suncoast. It is true, the English cast was called back in to "re-dub" the series to be as close as possible to the translation of the original version. I've seen the first episode many times, and when I saw the re-dub uncut version, there were LOTS OF CHANGES TO THE DIALOG MADE! Also, the Japanese writing ont he Duel Monsters cards was restored. On top of that, the original Japanese Opening was used! WAY COOL!

If you're confused about the new episode schedule on Kids WB for Saturday, you're right. There's a small episode title conflict. According to What's On WBDC, this Saturday's episode is titled "My Freaky Valentine, Part 1." However, according to TVTOME.com, the next episode is supposed to be "An Unexpected Enemy." The latter will air on KidsWB Friday 4:00 PM, October 29th. I think WBDC may have gotten the titles mixed up. The "My Freaky Valentine" (USA title) was a 4-part arc in the original series.

At Wal*Mart yesterday in Northern VA (USA), I found the new Yu-Gi-Oh Tins!
You get 5 booster packs like before, only the newer series ones.
In my opinion, Gia and Command Knight are the best two to get (top left and top right).
Insect Queen is the worst, too hard to use and get on the field, plus its effect is not that great.

Upper Deck plans an aggressive schedule of releases through the end of the year for its four CCG lines -- Yu Gi Oh, Versus (Marvel and DC), Shaman King, and Bratz. Yu-Gi-Oh will have the most releases, as is appropriate for the industry-leading CCG brand. Soul of the Duelist and the Yu Gi Oh Collector Tins are planned for September; Dark Beginnings for October; and Rise of Destiny, including a 40-card Special Edition Pack is planned for November. The YuGiOh Master Collection, a collector's case with six different booster packs and special cards, will release in December, although probably not in time to get a lot of holiday sales.

Sources with 4Kids Entertainment Home Video have confirmed that the company will begin releasing the original, un-cut Japanese versions of Yu- Gi-Oh! and Shaman King on DVD this fall. Both series were cut for American TV to make them appropriate for younger audiences, and the earlier DVD releases have been of those versions. The uncut versions will appeal to an older, otaku audience. Stay tuned for more details.

The new ICv2 Retailers Guide to Games #4 reports that the 2003 game market grew in three of four categories over the previous year, with CCGs, miniature games, and board and family games all up, and RPGs down. ICv2 estimates that the CCG market grew to around $850 million at retail in 2003, led by increased sales in the top two brands, Yu-Gi-Oh! and Magic: The Gathering, and solid sales in a number of other lines. YU-GI-OH!: The Movie To Premiere August 13

4Kids Entertainment, In Association With Shueisha, TV Tokyo And Nihon ADSystems, Teams With Warner Brothers Pictures For YU-GI-OH! Motion Picture

4Kids Entertainment, Inc. announced today that it has reached an agreement for Warner Bros. Pictures, a division of Time Warner, Inc. (NYSE: TWX), to distribute YU-GI-OH!: The Movie, the first theatrical motion picture based on the hit YU-GI-OH! animated television series. YU-GI-OH!: The Movie was produced by 4Kids Entertainment in association with Shueisha, TV Tokyo and Nihon AD-Systems. YU-GI-OH!: The Movie will be released across the U.S. on August 13, 2004 and will be released internationally in markets outside of Asia beginning in late August 2004.

Burger King Corporation will launch a major YU-GI-OH!: The Movie premium promotion backed by television advertising in the U.S. and key territories. In addition, Warner Bros. Pictures and Japanese toy and video game maker Konami Corporation will be distributing special YU-GI-OH!: The Movie trading cards to movie-goers in the U.S. and in the international markets. Cards will be offered at theatres with ticket purchases, including a new, rare collectors card that will be introduced especially for the theatrical release of YU-GI-OH!: The Movie. YU-GI-OH!: The Movie is a natural progression as YU-GI-OH! remains one of televisions top-rated animated series, said Alfred R. Kahn, Chairman and CEO of 4Kids Entertainment. Taking YU-GI-OH! to the big screen is an exciting development for 4Kids Entertainment and we look forward to building on the success of the brand for many years to come.

YU-GI-OH!: The Movie takes the YU-GI-OH! animated television series and the stories appearing in Shonen Jump magazine, published by Shueisha in Japan and by VIZ, LLC in the United States, to another level. In YU-GI-OH!: The Movie, after the conclusion of the Battle City Tournament, deep below the sands of Egypt, an ancient evil has awakened. Anubis, who was defeated centuries ago by Yugis mysterious alter ego the ancient Pharaoh has returned for revenge. Wielding the power of the Eighth Millennium Item, Anubis is determined to destroy Yugi and take over the world!

YU-GI-OH!, which made its U.S. television debut on KIDS WB! in September 2001, continues to rank at the top of the ratings charts, airing on KIDS WB! and Cartoon Network. Beginning in Japan as a manga (comic book) title in 1996, YU-GI-OH! has grown into a global kids entertainment brand. More than 50 countries worldwide air YU-GIOH!, including the U.K., France, Germany, Italy, Australia and Mexico.

Upper Deck has announced its 2004 plans for its category-leading Yu-Gi-Oh! collectible card game, plans that include newly established weekly tournaments at major retail and hobby stores, new regional tournaments, and a number of new Expansion sets for the popular game. Starting in February, Upper Deck Entertainment is teaming up with major retail outlets such as Toys R' Us, Wal-Mart, Hastings, Books-A-Million and the Meijer stores to host weekly Yu-Gi-Oh! Duelist Leagues. While such weekly tournaments are commonplace at game stores and hobby shops, Upper Deck is definitely pushing the envelope by interesting major retail chains in hosting and supervising tournament play. Upper Deck has also recently launched a series of Regional Tournament Weekend events. Each Regional Tournament Weekend event will offer a total of four invitations to the U.S. Yu-Gi-Oh! National Championships, which will be held in Columbus, Ohio at the Origins International Game Expo on Saturday June 26.

Invasion of Chaos Boosters (March)

Upper Deck has a number of new Yu-Gi-Oh! products on tap for 2004. The Evolution Starter Decks, which appear this month, will be followed by the Invasion of Chaos Boosters in March. The Invasion of Chaos expansion delves into the relationship between Spell Cards and Trap Cards. Duelists will be able to take advantage of these sophisticated new cards to generate powerful new effects.

Ancient Sanctuary Boosters (July)

This highly anticipated expansion will even out the playing field in the Yu-Gi-Oh! collectible card game just in time to spice up the Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championships.

Yu-Gi-Oh! Collectible Tins (October)

The tins will be back in October with all new tin artwork and some great variant cards. The Yu-Gi-Oh! tins, which offer a combination of various booster packs and variant cards, have been a very strong holiday product for the past two years.

Yu-Gi-Oh! Movie Set for August Release
A CCG Card for Every Ticket Sold
According to Yahoo Movies, Warner Brothers has acquired the rights to the first Yu-Gi-Oh! feature film and plans to release it on August 13, 2004. The film, which is currently in the final stages of production in Japan, is based on the same manga property that has inspired the number one animated TV series on American TV and the premier collectible card game (CCG) in the U.S market. Unlike many current animated features, the new Yu-Gi-Oh! film will be done in the traditional 2-D Japanese anime fashion, and not computer-generated. Warners plans to tie the feature very closely to the popular Yu-Gi-Oh! CCG from Upper Deck. Everyone who buys a ticket to the film will receive a promotional card from the Yu-Gi-Oh! CCG.

In Japan, right at this moment, there are new episodes of Yu-Gi-Oh! being aired in Japan. These episodes have no place in the manga (comics), sort of like a side story. In this series, the ancient duel monsters theory takes a jump to Atlantis. Before Atlantis disappeared, monsters were devastating the world. But they were sealed away into their own world, known as the Duel Monsters World. An Atlantean himself, a man called Dartz, wants the powers of Yugi's God Cards, to revive the lost queen of Atlantis. He steals the God Cards. His 3 guards, Raphael, Varion, and Amelda, are at his side. Dartz's queen was imprisoned within the Duel Monsters World, and Dartz and his queen, wish to rule it. However, there were 3 guardians to the Duel Monsters world. Timaeus, Critias, and Hellmos: The 3 Legendary dragons.

They can only be summoned by a duelist with enough heart, a chosen one with the spirit of a 'true' duelist. Kaiba owns Critias, Joey owns Hellmos, and Yugi owns Timaeus.

These 3 cards may only appear when the chosen duelist is in danger, are destined to use that Dragon in that battle, or if they trust in the Heart of the Cards. The duelist's spirit is then taken to the Duel Monsters World, or "Holy Land". The Holy Land is where the Ancient Monsters were sealed away from the earth 10,000 years ago. It is said that Dark forces tried to take over the Holy Land, but 3 Legendary Dragons appeared, and in order to make the Holy Land safe, they had to be frozen as the Guardians of the Plateau. Only the chosen duelists may call upon these great beasts.

TIMAEUS

It was the Pharaoh's Destiny to be sealed within the Millennium Puzzle and it was also his destiny to regain his Memory at the chosen time. But when Yugi held up the 3 God Cards to the Pharaoh's Tablet in a hope of regaining the Memory, when it was not destined to happen then, the tablet was sealed. And the God Cards stolen. Yugi and Yami's souls were taken to the Holy Land whilst their physical beings were asleep. The Dark Magician girl guided them to the Frozen Plateau of the 3 Dragons. There were 3 frozen dragons, each with a swords sticking out of them. Yugi walked up to the middle one and grasped the sword with two hands, but he couldn't pull it out. Yami did the same, but no luck. Then they both grasped the sword, and pulled out the sword of a creature, they already knew as Timaeus.

Timaeus [Divine/Effect]

Fuse Timaeus with any monster on the field (Including your opponent's monsters) and control them on your side of the field. The resulting monster's attack points shall skyrocket. Then you can attack the opponent’s Life Points directly. Can only be activated when played in combination with another monster.

CRITIAS

When the nightmare began, and the strange occurrences begun, Seto Kaiba knew that Kaiba Corp wasn't responsible. He knew that there was only one other man that could be. Kaiba traveled to Duelist Kingdom to confront Maximillion Pegasus. Kaiba challenged Pegasus to duel, but he soon learned that this was not Pegasus, but one of the Doom Squad, Amelda. Kaiba was stuck in a corner. H didn't know what to do. He trusted in the Heart of the Cards for the first time in his life, and his soul too was taken to the Holy Land. Kaiba walked up to the remaining two Dragons. he knew which was his. He flew up to it's head and pulled out the sword. From then on, he knew it as Critias.

Critias [Divine/Effect]

Combine Critias with any magic or trap cards you have placed on the field. Critias shall gain a power bonus, and that card(s) effect. Critias can then attack the opponent's Life Points directly. Can only be activated when played in combination with a magic or trap card.

HELLMOS

Joey has never been much of a duelist. But when he sets his mind to it, he can do whatever he wants, true? Ever since Marik defeated her in Battle City, Mai Valentine had been living her nightmare. That's when she met Varion, one of the Doom Squad, who promised her unlimited power. She accepted and was controlled by the Oracle Curse. Joey hated seeing this. The gang had arrived at Industrial Illusions to look for Pegasus, but instead found Mai. Mai challenged Joey to duel, and he accepted. But he didn't know that he didn't chose that path, and that it was already chosen for him. Joey was angry at the situation, and was in actual danger from Mai. So his soul was sent to the Holy Land, where he unlocked the final Dragon. Joey spoke as if he had met it before: Hellmos, he called it.

Hellmos [Divine/Effect]

Absorb the attack and defense power of all monsters on the field and destroy them all in the process, but one of your choosing. Equip the resulting object to that monster and attack the opponent’s Life Points directly. Can only be activated when played in combination with another monster.

SO FAR KNOWN RESULTS

Timaeus + Dark Magician Girl = Dark Magic Dragon Knight

[Spellcaster/Dragon/Warrior][Effect]

Discard 1 card from your hand to destroy 1 of your opponent's monsters.

Critias + Crush Card Virus = Virus Dragon

[Dragon][Effect]

All of your opponent's monsters with an attack of over 1000 points are destroyed. This card may then attack your opponent's Life Points directly for the total of all monsters destroyed.
Hellmos + Time Wizard = Wizard's Hammer

[Magic][Equip]

Once activated, all monsters on the opponent's field are destroyed. You may then attack their Life Points directly for the total of all monsters destroyed.
Hellmos + Red Eyes Black Dragon = Red Eyes Black Sword

[Magic][Equip]

Once activated, equip it to a Warrior-type Monster and increase that attack power by 1600 points.

Yu-Gi-Oh! Movie News!!!

Release Date: August 13th, 2004 (wide)

Release Date Note: (9/19/03) Warner Bros. will be attaching promotional cards for the Yu-Gi-Oh collectible card game with each ticket sold to this movie.

MPAA Rating Note: (9/19/03) Nothing's official until the MPAA sees the final cut, but Warner Bros. is aiming for a PG.

Type of Animation: Traditional Japanese Anime (non-CGI)

Distributor: Warner Bros

Production Company: 4 Kids Entertainment (the Pokemon movies)

Cast: Dan Green (Yugi Moto), Wayne Grayson (Joey Wheeler), Amy Birnbaum (Tea Garnder); other voice cast not announced yet.

Director: Not announced yet.

Screenwriter: Not announced yet.

Based Upon: This is the first feature length animated movie based upon the popular TV series that has aired on the "Kids WB" programming block of the WB since 2001 (in Japan, the series actually dates back to 1998). Warner Bros. is most likely hoping this can be the first of a franchise of 'Yu-Gi-Oh!' movies, similar to their Pokemon series (though they eventually gave up on that series, letting Miramax release the last two films). The TV series (and this movie) is heavily tied into a collectible card game that is the core of the storyline. The Anime TV series was originally based upon a manga (Japanese comic book) called 'Yu-Gi-Oh' which translates into English as something like 'Master of Games.'

Premise: The ancient Egyptians played dangerous "Shadow Games" using cards that could summon forth all varieties of mythological monsters and magical forces to become manifested as pawns in the game. The Shadow Games eventually led to a war that nearly destroyed the entire world until the secrets of the game were locked away in artifacts called the Millennium Items. 5,000 years later, Yugi is a teenager with spiky blonde hair who has unlocked the secrets of the Shadow Game as part of a game called Duel Monsters. Now, Yugi becomes engaged in a new sort of card game challenge... (which is my way of saying that as of 9/19/03, I have no idea what the exact premise of this movie actually is).

Filming: Animated production of this Anime movie started in Japan in the summer of 2003.

Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championships: Upper Deck & Konami Bring Top Players To NYC
The world's top players in both the Yu-Gi-Oh! CCG and the Yu-Gi-Oh! video game will meet on August 10 at Madison Square Garden in New York City to determine the The Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championships in both fields. In addition to the World Championships on Sunday, August 10, there will be open tournaments and activities that will provide the ultimate environment for fans to experience all the aspects of the CCG and video game. Upper Deck and Konami of America will invite the top-five Yu-Gi-Oh! duelists from North America to compete with 18 duelists from around the world. Each of the participants will win a trip to New York City and a chance to win titles and other highly sought after prizes. The World Championships represent the apex of a massive pyramid of regional tournaments. The North American participants in the Yu-Gi-Oh! CCG World Championships will be picked from the Duelist King Tournament system based on regional rankings. Over 300,000 duelists in the United States have been competing every weekend at more than 1,300 participating hobby shops since August 2000 to gain a spot at the World Championships. The number of participants both in terms of hobbyists and hobby shops demonstrates the continued importance of in-store gaming, which has become the foundation of the game industry's current prosperity. A separate competition will be held for masters of the Yu-Gi-Oh video game. The video game duelists will engage in their preliminary competition on the Konami website where they can log in using a special "Yugi Passport Code," which is available in the July issue of the popular manga monthly Shonen Jump (on sale since June3).

For those that bid on Ebay, there is a warning that was passed on to me I thought you all should know. Apparently, there is someone has 2 ebay IDs, pretending to be two different people, where one of the ebay ID's is the seller and the other posses as a potential buyer, specifically to boost up the price bidding. These two ebay IDs are Srunnchea and thuchung2003 respectively. In other words, don't buy from either one! On ebay you can do searches by seller and by bidder. Do a seller search on Srunnchea, then check out some the auction histories and you'll see what I mean. You can also to a search by bidder. Click here to see exactly what I'm talking about.

FOLLOW-UP:

Well it appears my tip was correct as the bidder with the ebay ID of thuchung2003 has retracted all of his bids. Well it just goes to show you that you shouldn't try to cheat potential buyers of your ebay auctions.

I got an email from Mike Pollock. He informed me that he is the voice actor for Arthur Hawkins (Rebecca's Grandpa), but he is NOT the voice actor for Yugi's Grandpa (Solomon Muoto). He suggested that I contact 4Kids Productions and he provided me a phone number. I called them and asked to speak with with a producer of Yu-Gi-Oh. The operator informed me she was in a session so I left a message. Well I got my call returned. She said that contractually, they are not allowed to give out voice actor information. This explains why in the credits, they only list voice characterizations, but not what characters they do. However if voice actors/actresses volunteer that information, then it's ok. She thanked me for my interest and wished me luck in finding out the voice actor information. Well there you go.

Mattel Expands Yu-Gi-Oh:

Last year Mattel produced a small line of Yu-Gi-Oh! toys that the company expanded throughout the year as the property started to take off. Mattel has two lines of Yu-Gi-Oh! action figures -- a two-inch line (demonstrating once again that small figures were a major trend at this year's Toy Fair) with 30 new monsters, each of which comes with a "Holo-tile" with a retail of $2.99 (A.R.P.--$7.99 for a 3-Pack);and a six-inch line that retails for $7.99 (A.R.P.). The coolest items in the line are the most powerful monsters in the world of Yu-Gi-Oh! -- the dragons, who come alive with cool lights and sound. These approx. 7" figures should retail for around $13.99 (A.R.P.).

This is ONLY because it will go head-to-head against the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (TMNT), which is also on twice each Saturday, the 1st being at 8:30 AM naturally. Remember we're still in February so it's only for ratings.

BTW, if you saw the new episode of TMNT on the FoxBox today, then you'll notice the voice of April O'Neil is the same voice as Tea Gardner in Yu-Gi-Oh!

Final 2002 Top Ten Cool survey of the sell-through of pop culture products in December serves as a fitting capstone, since the major trends that we have been noticing are evident in abundance. Since this survey is concerned with total dollar sales, high-ticket items continue to dominate many of our categories including comics, anime, toys, and movies/tv. In our lone remaining category Yu-Gi-Oh!, which has been trending stronger all year as supplies in the hobby market have increased, displayed the dominance that TV ratings and Internet searches would indicate that it has in the mass market.

YU-GI-OH! CRAZE HITS SPECIAL COVERS OF TV GUIDE

TV GUIDE OFFERS THREE DIFFERENT FOIL COLLECTOR'S COVERS ON NEWSSTANDS;

ALSO GIVES SNEAK PEEK AT WHAT'S IN THE CARDS ON TV AND ON THE SHELVES

In its February 1 issue (on newsstands Monday, January 27), TV Guide magazine looks at the Yu-Gi-Oh! craze, publishing three foil collector's covers, each of which features an illustration of the Japanese cartoon's characters drawn exclusively for TV Guide. Characters Yami Yugi, Seto Kaiba and Marik are each featured on one of the covers.

In the cover story, TV Guide looks at the Yu-Gi-Oh! franchise, which ranges from a popular card game to a WB television program which has quickly become the top-rated show among 9 to 14-year-old boys nationwide.

The show, drawn with the splashy colors and vividly stylized imagery of Japanese anim, follows a shy, easily-bullied high school student named Yugi who is transported by an ancient Egyptian artifact into a realm where the Duel Monsters card game springs to life.

On the shelves, merchandise sales reached a reported $500 million last year, and comic book outlets have also taken notice, as Upper Deck Entertainment has launched a national 12-weekend tour for Yu-Gi-Oh! players in large suburban malls around the country.

Where Pokmon is an industry legend for its ability to move video games off of store shelves, Yu-Gi-Oh! may turn out to be the gold standard for card sales. According to Alfred Kahn, CEO of 4 Kids Entertainment, which brought both Yu-Gi-Oh! and Pokmon to the U.S., the numbers support that hypothesis. In Pokmon's first three years in Japan, the title sold 10 million video games and 600 million cards; worldwide, Pokmon sold 90 million video games and six billion cards. After three years in Japan, Yu-Gi-Oh! has sold seven million video games and three billion cards.

WHAT'S AHEAD IN THE WORLD OF YU-GI-OH! - TV GUIDE OFFERS SNEAK PEAK

Last year on the cartoon, Yugi's goal was to save his grandfather. "This season, the stakes increase, and now it's about saving the world," says Kids' WB executive VP Donna Friedman Meir. TV Guide's February 1 issue reveals some details about what to expect in the new season.

The video-game maker Konami also hopes to give the craze a new shove on February 18 when it releases a Yu-Gi-Oh! game for PlayStation 2.

This month will also see the release of a new line of booster-pack cards, Labyrinth of Nightmare, and two new starter decks will debut in March, each with 50 never-before-seen cards.

SPECIAL FOURTH COVER AVAILABLE EXCLUSIVELY ONLINE AT TV GUIDE STORE

A special fourth Yu-Gi-Oh! cover will be available exclusively online at the TV Guide Store (shop.tvguide.com). The fourth special foil collector's cover features Mai, a character which will become increasingly prominent this season on the show.

ICV2.com's Game Controversy of the Year -- Not Enough Yu-Gi-Oh
Nothing gets retailers more agitated than insufficient supply on a hot product, and Upper Deck's Yu-Gi-Oh CCG was white hot and retailers couldn't get enough, so the frustration was palpable at times, especially in the first months after launch. By June, with starters still hard to come by and Japanese product at times selling for less than American, retailers could taste the sales they were missing and didn't like it. Many retailers bought product on the secondary market to re-sell at premium prices. The controversy ran about six months, until supply increased to levels that allowed most retailers to satisfy most of the demand.

As Cartoon Network increasingly focuses on adult animation, its ratings for kids have been declining, with kid TV powerhouse Nickelodeon and up-and-comer Kids WB taking up the slack. Advertising Age reports that through mid-November, Cartoon Network was down 11% in its average ratings for kids 2-11, WB was up 35%, and Nick was up 3.5%. In absolute numbers, Nick was tops with a 3.1 Nielsen rating, WB had a 2.7, and Cartoon Network. The big reason for Kids WB's success will come as no surprise to pop culture retailers -- it's primarily due to the strength of the Yu Gi Oh anime, which continues to drive sales of the Upper Deck CCG in all channels.

I just want to tell you that at McDonalds when you order a mighty kids meal you get a Yu-Gi-Oh! CD. it is a preview of Yu-Gi-Oh!: Music to Duel By (I don't know if that's the name). Each one comes with 3 songs, I don't know if they are the same songs on each CD, and there are 3 different CD's. Yami Yugi, the one i have, has the opening theme, "Your Move" and "One Card Short". But there are also Seto Kaiba and a Pegasus one to. They also come with stuff to do an the computer, but I haven't tried it yet.

Oh I forgot to tell you earlier but it also comes 2 cards, there are 15 cards in all, including Cosmo Queen and Millennium Shield.

Tomorrow's schedule on ToonZone.net is not correct. Since it was wrong for today, I don't trust it for tomorrow. According to What's On from my local WBDC station, here's tomorrow's schedule:
8:00 a.m. Yu-Gi-Oh! "Legendary Heroes" (Part 1)
9:00 a.m. Jackie Chan Adventures
9:30 a.m. Ozzy & Drix
10:00 a.m. Pokemon
10:30 a.m. Mucha Lucha
11:00 a.m. Yu-Gi-Oh! "Legendary Heroes" (Part 2)
11:30 a.m. Yu-Gi-Oh! "Legendary Heroes" (Part 3)

This must be correct because during the credits of the 4:30 episode today,
it said to prepare for a special Yu-Gi-Oh trilogy this Saturday starting at 8 AM on KidsWB.

I thought so. Ok today's episodes might not be what you think. According to ToonZone.net and AnimeOnTV.com, both had listed "The Mystery Duelist" Part 1 and 2 starting at 4:00 PM EST. However, according to What's On which is part of my local WB station (WBDC), they have the following schedule:

4:00 p.m.Yu-Gi-Oh! "Shining Friendship". Yugi reels from his loss to Kaiba. {CC, Stereo}
4:30 p.m.Yu-Gi-Oh! "Obelisk, The Tormentor". {CC, Stereo}

Notice that the 4:30 episode appears to be ALL NEW!!!!!!! We'll see when the time comes!

UPDATE: It turns out the episode that aired is "New Contest, New Rules." I guess it could also be called "Obelisk, The Tormentor" since this is the episode where Kiaba tests it's power, before the declaration of the new tournament. I will stick to the former title for this web site.

I just came across some news on Yu-Gi-Oh while I was surfing the net on information about Yu-Gi-Oh. I read that the latest new episode will be "Stalked by the Rare Hunters" on 12/15 but Kids WB WON'T be showing the Battle City episodes of Yu-Gi-Oh even though they were kinda supposed to (not sure if this is a rumor or not). Also I think that there won't be any new episodes for awhile with the exception of the latest one.

The 4th set of Third Japanese Series has been released last week, it's called Power of Guardians (Or Guardian's Force - whichever way you prefer to translate it). Features cards from Kaiba vs. Isis and Kaiba vs. Yugi in Battle City...quite a Kaiba-intensive set, again.

I also find this quite significant. It seems that Upper Deck has increased their wholesale price of booster boxes from $40 to $55...probably because of high demands. This price will take place for Magic Ruler, and any set released afterwards...so don't be surprised if booster prices go up at your local card shop. However, I find that booster pack prices are a couple of dollars less in some stores that don't "specialize" in selling types of cards such as Japanese animation items. After the holiday sales, of course, these prices will then take affect. Go Yugioh!

Toy maker Mattel reported Q3 net earnings 40% higher than those in the same period last year. Of primary interest to pop culture retailers were events in its Entertainment category, where sales were up 21% worldwide. The sales increase was attributed to strong performance in its He-Man, Yu-Gi-Oh, and SpongeBob SquarePants lines. The company did say that it had about $75 to $100 million worth of toys stuck on the water due to the labor dispute in west coast ports, and that represented a challenge for Q4. Although President Bush's invocation of the Taft Hartley Act has forced port operators to end their lockout, it's going to take weeks to work through that backlog, which might cause some delays in shipments of holiday merchandise. The company did say that it was air freighting some goods in, and was taking steps to shorten delivery times once product arrives in the States.
